Origin
From Lab to Life
The seed of PONKEY was planted 15 years ago at the IDEEA Lab, Tokyo Metropolitan University, through research on tangible interfaces for music.
The lab developed an interface device that gave sound a physical form — objects you could grasp, twist, and manipulate to shape audio effects in real time.
PONKEY is the social implementation of that research — bringing the ideas born in the lab into the hands of everyone.
